Description

Face paint fun at Earth DayWe've got an extra special Earth Day Festival planned this year, and it will be the first ever festival held at the new Los Alamos Nature Center!

Join us for a fun day of entertainment, food, activities, information booths and more. Special guest Recycleman sponsored by LANB will join us for two interactive shows that will be fun for all ages, LANL will sponsor two special shows in the brand new planetarium, and the Hill Stompers will be back for another year of energetic music and dancing.

Hill Stompers entertain at Earth Day

As always, it's free to attend the Earth Day Festival, and there is no advance registration required. Just come on by the new Los Alamos Nature Center for a day of food, friends, and fun!

There will be no parking available at the event. A free Atomic City Transit bus will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., picking up and dropping off in front of the Justice Center on Central Ave. Or consider riding your bike to the festival. Tuff Riders will operate a bike valet service, and anyone who rides their bike will be entered into a drawing to win prizes donated by Fusion Multisport, Tuff Riders, and PEEC!

Besides all the fun that comes with the festival, this will be one of the first chances to explore the new Los Alamos Nature Center. So mark your calendars, and we'll see you there!

As part of the PEEC Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 25th, the Los Alamos Keep It Co-op group will be holding a community shred day at the Reel Deal movie theater parking lot!  Keep it Co-op invites you to bring items for shredding to the west side of the Reel Deal parking lot between 10 A.M. and 12 P.M.  Watch your items get shredded right before your eyes!  Due to the popularity of this event, they request a 50-pound limit (about two boxes) per person.
