Description

The Chama River is probably one of the West’s most undiscovered and diverse rivers with everything from high mountain freestone sections to larger high-desert tail waters. It offers great opportunities for rafting, hiking, and especially fishing. The river has been facing some serious issues recently due to drought conditions, water management and unregulated fishing. This talk will discuss the current situation on the river from a holistic point of view and the current catch and release initiative that is being proposed for the fishery.

Speaker Noah Parker is the owner of Land of Enchantment Guides - a company that offers guided fly fishing trips throughout out Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. The Chama River is Land of Enchantment Guides “home water”. For the last ten years, Noah and the other guides that work with him have spent many days a year on the Chama, giving them the opportunity to see what is really happening on the river. Noah has been a professional fishing guide and fisherman for most of his life. For more information on Noah and/or Land of Enchantment Guides, please go to their website: www.loeflyfishing.com
